The company has continually developed since it was founded in 1991 as LPKF CAD/CAM Systeme in Thüringen GmbH. It was renamed LPKF Motion & Control in 1998. The company moved into its own building in the Suhl-Friedberg industrial estate in the spring of 2000, which considerably improved employee working conditions.
